A new voluntary bundled payment model has recently been released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) called Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced (BPCI Advanced).  Eligible providers will be able to earn supplementary payment for an episode of a beneficiary’s care if their expenses are under a specific target that factors in quality.  The period for this new bundle will be activated on October 1st, 2018 and run through December 31st, 2023.  This version of an Advanced APM will carry an incentive for providers to deliver efficient and high-quality care for those who choose to participate and CMS will be taking applications for participation until March 12th
